Have your say on climate change

Published Sun 17 Sep 2023

Scouts NSW youth members can have their say on climate change in a new survey for Scouts Australia.

As part of the Voice of Youth initiative, earlier this year Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts shared what is keeping them awake at night, with the overwhelming majority saying climate change.

A new Scouts Australia survey will help us deep dive into our youth members’ views on this topic that affects us all.

Data collected from the survey will also be used to for a submission to the Australian Government.

Senator David Pocock has introduced a Private Member’s Bill that would require federal government decision-makers to consider the wellbeing of current and future children when making decisions that are likely to contribute to climate change.

The Senate has referred the Bill to the Senate Standing Committees on Environment and Communications for inquiry. For more information on the Bill, visit here.

The closing date for the survey is 30 September, so get in quick!
